The Kids in a New Groove (KING) mentoring through music program provides Central Texas youth who have had experience with the child welfare system with a committed one-on-one mentoring relationship through free weekly, private music lessons, giving students the ability to transform their lives through connection and support.

Founded in 1966 by seventy Austin businessmen with the assistance of members of the Women’s Symphony League, the Knights of the Symphony was designed to be a fun-loving group. Despite its light-hearted attitude, the organization has contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Austin Symphony during its more than 50-year history. The Knights ranked first among the city’s most prestigious men’s groups in a survey commissioned by an Austin bank.

Based in Austin, Texas, we perform music from the time of Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Haydn and Mozart. We use instruments and performance practices appropriate to the period, so you experience the music exactly as the composers experienced it. “Baroque done right.”

Line upon line exists to champion living composers and pursue the musically unfamiliar. Submit a proposal to make a new work for line upon line. $0 to apply, $1,000 - $3,000 commission paid (if selected). Host of annual 8 day composer festival. The festival is an opportunity for up to six composers and one early-career composer/performer ensemble to create, workshop, document and premiere new works in Austin, TX.

The Traveling Musicians Union - American Federation of Musicians (AFM). LOLA creates innovative, high-quality operatic experiences that break traditional barriers and bring opera into community spaces like bars, parks, and small theaters. Focused on showcasing Austin-based artists, especially those from underrepresented groups, LOLA ensures that 70% of its cast and crew are female-identifying or from Latinx, Black, and queer communities. Musicians and arts organizations seeking collaboration in creating inclusive, community-centered opera are encouraged to get involved.

The Louis Armstrong Educational Foundation is dedicated to preserving the legacy of Louis Armstrong and supporting jazz education. Musical Connections promotes global understanding through music by celebrating the diversity of cultures around the world. The MusiCares Foundation, established in 1989 by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, focuses on addressing the health and human service needs of the music community. MusiCares serves as a lifeline, offering support to music professionals in crisis, and is funded through its own fundraising activities.
