"Tuesday's Just As Bad" music jam (on Tuesdays) at the Regal Rooms located at 1204 Regal Row in south Austin, Tx. Sign up starts at 7:45p. House band 8:30-9. Jam from 9p-12a. Professional backline (2 guitar amps, bass amp and drum kit, keyboards) provided by the house band, The Silver Alert Band. Just bring your instruments and plug into pedal boards already set up- no extra pedal boards needed.
The blues, R&B, classic/light rock jam is not a singer-songwriter open mic where one person performs their songs. Musicians from anywhere (Austin, Tx, the U.S., the world) come in and sign up. The house band plays for 30 minutes and then I go down the list in order as much as possible and put together a "band" consisting of at least a singer, guitar player and normally another guitar player, drummer and bass player. Keyboardist and horn player(s)/harmonica player may join in. That group plays for about 20 minutes/3 songs and then I create another group. This is repeated throughout the night. It may end up being approximately 6 bands during the night.
